Principles of Relativity

Special Relativity contains, at its heart, the two basic postulates given by Albert Einstein. The postulates of Special Relativity may be stated as follows.
  1. The laws of Physics are the same in all inertial frames of reference.

  2. The speed of light in vacuum is a universal constant, the same in all inertial frames of reference.

These simple postulates depict, in a profound manner, the behavior of the world around us. Understanding the laws well and getting familiar with the way they apply in nature leads to profound changes in the way we percieve space and time.
